EU PLASTICS STRATEGY

In 2018, the European Commission announced the

EUROPEAN STRATEGY FOR PLASTICS IN A CIRCULAR ECONOMY to ensure that all plastic packaging is recyclable by 2030.

 

This strategy is gradually being implemented in directives and national laws with shorter deadlines.

GERMAN PACKAGING ACT

The correspondingly adopted GERMAN PACKAGING ACT (VerpackG) which came into effect in 2019, requires the responsible recycling schemes by providing financial incentives to promote:

 

- the use of materials and material combinations that enable to recycle the highest possible percentage, taking into account the sorting and recycling practice.

 

- use of recyclates and renewable raw materials.

designed for recycling and optimized to be used for a big range of horizontal and vertical form fill & seal (FFS) applications, flow wrapping or lidding. e.g.:
